‘Spectrum’ – A Colourful and Exciting Exhibition at The Whalley Gallery

Contemporary Irish artist Stephen Whalley is to hold a unique exhibition of his new works on Friday 07 May (from 6pm) at Holywood’s popular Whalley Gallery. The artist, whose style has taken up to ten years to develop, demonstrates a heavy influence from his design background.

The exhibition, entitled “Spectrum”, will encapsulate a balance of both imaginative and vibrant paintings, painted on a variety of mediums including copper, aluminium and Perspex. As part of the new series, Stephen has included a number of 3-dimensional paintings where he invites the viewer to see the process involved in the making of his work, with different painted layers of Perspex.

Eagerly anticipated by Whalley collectors, the brand new collection features many lively, colourful and contemporary pieces. With attention to detail focusing on the importance of line and form - an obvious interest in architecture can be detected in each piece.

Stephen said: “I have been designing and preparing my new body of work for over six months now and have come up with some very exciting concepts. I am so looking forward to seeing the gallery alive with colour and peoples’ reactions to my new body of work.”
